I’m 72. It was an hour’s drive to Hendersonville, but my general dentist gave me the referral with confidence. Having lost my left rear molar several years ago to cracking during root canal treatment — which permanently halted my ability to chew on the left side of my mouth — I was terrified and most reluctant to offer up the right rear molar for treatment. Dr. VanDusen understood my fear, and calmly and patiently performed the procedure with great care, ultimately saving my molar and providing me with the assurance that I will be able to continue eating the kind of foods I need most — salads, fruits, nuts, etc. — for many years to come. I first went in for a root canal consultation, then back in 8-23 for actual procedure. Dr. Sandlin was the Dentist who performed my procedure. He is very thorough in his communication about all that he was going to do. His chair side assistant was very nice and professional. I know having a root canal 🦷 isn’t at the top of things most people dream about😅. However, if you find yourself needing a root canal, I highly suggest Bluegrass Endodontics & their great staff😊

I’m sitting on my couch, after an hour post-procedure nap and dinner of soft food, feeling much better than I imagined after my root canal. The past few days I’ve had a growing toothache, after a quick visit to my regular dentist (Denton Dental Solutions) who was nearly certain I needed a root canal. They called their referral specialist, Bluegrass Endodontics, who saw me immediately. The office staff were friendly and professional. I was presented with a complete estimate up front, and filled out patient information on an iPad. After X-rays from the surgical assistant, (polite and professional) I met with Dr. Tomlinson who did an examination and described my situation clearly and explained treatment procedures. While no dental experience is without some discomfort, I can say the numbing process was the worst of it. After that I experienced no pain throughout. Post operative instructions were described and provided in writing. I didn’t wake up this morning knowing I would have a root canal, but I’m glad if I had to, I was in expert hands.
