Meet Dr. Austin VanDusen, DDS

I recall root canal therapy to include pain, blood and brutality. To my amazement Dr.VanDusen, D.D.S. explained every aspect of what he was about to do. He really relaxed my racing mind. His assistant, Stephanie was an angel in helping in the relaxing area. A root canal is no small thing. I have to say in summary, I could never go any place else after the way I was treated there. I got through it famously with the way it was presented. Couldn’t believe how easy it was. Very little pain afterward and today, 3 weeks later it’s fantastic. Thanks to all the the folks there who made it fantastic. I’m still in shock.. G God Bless…

I am so impressed with this entire office! I had to have 2 emergency root canals, and not only did they fit me into the schedule this week, they made it literally painless. Dr. VanDusen and Stephanie did an incredible job. I dread seeing the dentist/endodontist and this was the most relaxed visit I have ever had! Thank you for making this a great experience. Dr. VanDusen, in addition to his credentials, experience and expertise, has perhaps the most genuine, reassuring and enjoyable patient relation skills of any healthcare provider I've ever visited. In fact, each person I encountered at Bluegrass Endodontics, from Tina who scheduled my appointment to Stephanie who expertly assisted Dr. VanDusen, was caring and friendly as they provided outstanding customer service with a smile. I'm basically a big chicken when it comes to dental procedures. But from now on, when I need to see an endodontist, I will gladly call Tina to schedule an appoint with Dr. VanDusen and I highly recommend that you consider doing the same.

My procedure was a little out of the ordinary, I knew something was happening with my tooth, but there was a lack of pain or sensitivity. Dr VanDusen was very thorough testing my tooth along with the surrounding teeth. X-rays didn't really indicate a problem. After isolating the correct tooth, it was determined I did need the root canal procedure. The entire procedure was extremely well done. Becca was assisting with the procedure, both Dr VanDusen & Becca were constantly checking to make sure I was comfortable. I would give you guy's a ten star rating if I could have!! Thanks again! Wish I would have known Dr VanDusen went to Creighton University, I used to live in Omaha and as a child, had several procedures done at the Creighton Dental College. ( small world )

Dr VanDusen is the best Endodontics I’ve ever been to. He made me feel comfortable. So kind and sweet. The entire office was amazing. I was so nervous but shortly went away soon after meeting him. I didn’t feel anything. Also, did not even have to take any pain meds or even a Tylenol. If you want the best he’s the one!! Faye Woods

Wonderful experience. Dr. VanDusen explained everything he was doing before and during my root canal as well as what follow up things I needed to do. He made sure I was comfortable and didn't experience any pain during the procedure. But I will forever be grateful for the office staff. I was in so much pain and wanted in sooner than the appointment my dentist made for me. I called and asked if anything were to come available I would appreciate it and I received a call the same afternoon asking if I could be there first thing the next morning! No dental procedure is ever fun but this experience was as simple and painless as a root canal could be.

Everyone was great! I was in a lot of pain and you got me in quickly. I was given an explanation of what was going on with my tooth and what my options were for treatment. I can't put into words how heartfelt and thankful I am to this entire office! I had been having lower back tooth pain after a crown for a month. My dentist told me I need a root canal and I was referred to Dr. Van Dusen. I'm not a tearful or scared person, but I was gripped with fear the entire drive to the office and by the time I arrived I was shaking and in tears. Carolee and Tina were so caring and understanding and explained it was not a painful procedure and how well I would be taken care of. Rebecca was a fabulous assistant, helped calm me and even gave me a warm fleece blanket - And as simple as that seems, it really felt great. Dr. Van Dusen came in, introduced himself, reviewed my xrays/ct scan and asked about my personal history with this tooth and the pain. But when he said the words root canal, my anxiety and tears began to flow again. I was so scared. But, he said he'd take excellent care of me and that I would be numbed up well and shouldn't feel a thing. Graciously I accepted nitrous oxide. He explained everything he would be doing, showed me some of the equipment (love that rubber band ha ha) and he and Rebecca talked with me throughout the painless procedure. I can't believe I'm going to say but, this was less painful and easier than a regular routine filling. I was almost embarrassed when it was all over about how upset I had been initially. Upon leaving, Sandy was so sweet asking how I was feeling , gave me my post procedure instructions, and we went over my insurance and balances. I left feeling pretty good. I wanted to wait to write a review until this morning, (the next day) to see just how well I felt, but I'm fine. This is the first day I haven't taken Advil in about 2 weeks. I just can't believe it. While I hope I NEVER have the need for a root canal again, if I do, I'm calling Dr. Van Dusen and his staff immediately and will refer all my friends, family and coworkers, as well. I just can't say enough, how please I am. Thank you! Thank you!! Thank you!!!
