My experience was very positive, friendly staff, kind and dentist was engaging and caring. She was also Gentle in her task and numb only the areas that need numbing. This was the best root canal I’ve had to date. I know it’s an odd thing to report but I had 2 procedures and both were excellent. I also want to shout out the front desk, insurance processor, sorry don’t know the exact title but she had all my info and processed everything correctly and accuracy so I didn’t have to question anything, which is not always my experience in any medical office, we’ll done!! I have only praises for Bluegrass Endodontics. I have been there on several occasions for root canals. Each time I was in considerable pain. They managed to fit me in their busy schedule. The last time I was there, Dr VanDusen and his assistant Stephanie went above and beyond to take care of an especially painful tooth and abscess. They are compassionate and caring, and I wouldn’t consider going anywhere else. Thank you for taking care of me!

This was a great first experience at Bluegrass for a root canal. Very professional and comfortable atmosphere. Stephanie put me right at ease, explained everything thoroughly, and made sure all of my questions were answered and that I was comfortable each step of the way. Dr. Horwat performed my root canal and took the time to explain the condition of the issue and the procedure, and gave me updates throughout. Any discomfort was managed very well with local anesthetic and I did not have any issues during or post-op with discomfort or pain. Overall, the procedure was quick, easy and painless. I’m very happy to have a reliable endodondist for any future needs and highly recommend them!

Dr. Horwat did an excellent job of making my daughter feel comfortable before her endo treatment on her front tooth. He explained everything to both of us so we understood what to expect. I had a great experience with Dr. Horwat, and it might be the most cared for I've felt from a medical professional. I went in for a root canal, but after we talked and Dr. Horwat explained what was going on with my tooth (walking me through the scans in ways I could understand) we decided against it. He gave me context, used terms I could speak in, and really made me feel cared for and informed. What an experience. Highly recommend!

I was very impressed from the minute I walked thru the front door, until my appointment was over and I left. The check in process was painless! Kaitlin, came to the front and called my name, not only was Kaitlin professional, she was very friendly, and talked to me as we were walking towards the back. She made x-rays for Dr Richard Horwat and then he came in and told me in detail what he was going to do. He cut up with me from time to time which made me relax. I wasn’t really very nervous, but laughing helps in any situation. He noticed on one of the x-rays that I had a very small piece of a drill bit that had been left in the tooth that he was going to be working on. He said that they saw them a lot and that it should not be a problem. The only thing that he thought might be a problem, that the roots to my tooth were extremely calcified; that they were so bad you could hardly see them. He said that he would do his best, but that he had his work cut out for him. Next he told me he would be numbing me and after I should not feel any more pain. First, of course, he put the longer q-tip between my jaw and my gum, which I think as some type of numbing medicine on it, so it will keep you from feeling the initial pinch. I will have to say, I am 78 years old, and I felt it less than anyone whose has numbed my mouth before. I think he did three shots, and I can say that I felt very little. Kaitlin then started to prepare me for my root canal and told me everything that she was doing. I am claustrophobic, and this did not bother me too much. Once Dr Horwat started, he would tell me things occasionally. I never felt any pain. He told me that the root canal was complete and that he had removed too very small pieces of a drill bit, and that it was a success. He told me that Kaitlin would give me a card and if I felt any pain that I could call and the he would call in an antibiotic for me, since I still had a little infection. Kaitlin took me back to the front and I paid them. The entire process was such a great experience!!! I would recommend them anytime that you need an endondotist. Gale

I can't say enough good things about Bluegrass Endodontics. Office people are very nice and quick. I have no pain during or after root canal.
